Michelin has developed an innovative tire design called Tweel. The tire requires no air and cannot burst or flat. Its base is connected to shock shock-absorbing polyurethane spokes which are used to support the outer rim.

what about the application of power/torque wouldn't the rubber just bend if you apply lots of turning force quickly? like accelerating and braking fast?

I'm just wondering about the heat they could generate on a highway. Rubber gets kinda weak when heat is applied. Other than that I think this idea is awsome!

but Why do we need these new tires?
i dont see any problems with current tires. These tires will also wear out, and it seems like it takes even more material to make them.
